We visited Ickworth House when staying near Bury St Endmunds and took our Bikes. A separate page has been added for such places that have designated cycle routes.
We went to Ickworth House on a visit to East Anglia for five of the Best 100 Railway Stations. We have been before but don’t remember the outdoor screen. Various films were during the day.

We took our bikes in order to go cycling. Though this one was an exhibit “downstairs” in the house.

If you look carefully you will see an intrepid cyclist zooming in to the distance. There are two routes and we managed to get them confused so ended up doing more than one and less than the other. As I recall the route we intended to do was about 6 miles.

A picture of England’s not green, but still pleasant, land. During our stay in East Anglia it was very dry and much browner than Lancashire.

How are your stums?

The chief guide informs me that Ickworth was the first place we visited with a stumpery. We think we took photos the last time but haven’t yet found them. Trees from the estate that had fallen over, or had to be cut down, left behind the stumps. Some were dug up and artistically arranged to form the stumpery.
