Oxborough Estate, Norfolk

Our visit to Oxborough, near Swafham, was on the last day of our East Anglia trip. We had visited Oxborough before a few years ago.

We had stopped off at RAF Lakenheath visitor centre. The previous day as we had been driving long the main road there were several US military jets that flew over us when coming in to land. There were also hoardes of people and vehidles parked alongside the road in the “no parking” area. We probably arrived too late but the official visitor area was heaving but only two planes took off while we were there and they were going away from us. The noise and spead of ascent was impressive, but almost completely lost on my video which therefore only really shows the crowds and the butty/ice cream van.

The estate church, much nearer to the house than in many such places.

Libraries are usually my favourite room on visits. However, in another room they had some silver miniatures which they think were made for a Dolls House so I have added some pictures for that in the Doll’s Houses I have visited section.

An old bell I noticed whilst waiting for the loo.

There was some water in the moat, but I don’t seem to have taken a picture of that.

The front door, for visitors, with some information about the house. And an early outing for a new hat.
